Deskripsyon

Cars merge from Arlington Blvd and Walter Reed dr. on to Wash. Blvd at the same place There are lots of No-Merge signs, but traffic is too fast there in the morning for persons trying to get on from Walter Reed Dr. after a stop sign. Many accidents. I'd recommend restricting Wash Blvd to one lane after the bridge, and adding a light only for the Arlington blvd merge lane to allow the persons from WW Dr. to get on the highway without risking their lives.

Now that there's bridge construction happening nearby, I guess traffic should slow down. The problem still remains though.

The problem remains. Although it appears that VDOT was doing some investigation a month or so ago.

VDOT put "no merge" signs all over the exit from Rt. 50. But since it's obvious that it IS a merge, everyone is ignoring the signs. Poor solution. Still really dangerous. What they really need to do is treat the intersection like Lorcum Lane at the Spout Run Parkway. A light for the lanes that have to merge, a free pass for the lane on the left. So traffic on Washington Blvd will slow down. So what. Safety first.

The issue still remains. I take my life into my hands every workday morning. Why won't VDOT consider my suggestion? It's the only solution I can see. Lorcom Lane treatment all the way.

Two wrecks last week. Both looked like they were people trying to turn right from Walter Reed Dr. into traffic that is coming too fast from the exit and Washington BLVD. So dangerous.
