Description

There needs to be a crosswalk light here. Too many children, teens and older adults try to cross this busy street and I have seen too many near misses.

Typically, NCDOT does not install a pedestrain signal without a traffic signal being present at the location. However, NCDOT may install pedestrain warning signs if certain warrants are met. Contact the local Traffic Services Office for NCDOT at 486-1452. Also, include advise them if the location you're talking about is at an intersection or if it's a mid-block crossing issues.

This issue has not been resolved. There has been a death at this crossing since my initial petition and there is still no crosswalk for pedestrians to move from this shopping plaza to cross the street into the apartment complex. These are shopping plazas and people crossing this street are fighting traffic coming from Ft Bragg during rush hour. Many of whom are shopping for groceries on foot. If this problem has been resolved then tell me what has been done to rectify this issue.

Ms. Hutchins, I been talking with Kent Langdon (NCDOT) in reference to your concerns. He verfified that the information Mr. West gave in 2011 is correct however with more information they may be able to assist further in this matter.
