I like these things. They do quite a number on your car if you're going too fast, but that is exactly the idea. Slow down on the residential streets and speed elsewhere.

They will Only Damage your car if you are Speeding. They are Called Traffic Calming Devices for a Reason.

They were put in place because a Lasell College student was struck by a car and killed while crossing the street. Just slow down and they will not damage your car.

In the dark time these raised crosswalks create a very dangerous condition when a car climbs up on it and blinds the upcoming drivers with the headlights. Several times I was blinded this way in the presence of many pedestrians walking around. Thanks God I did not hit anybody!
The slower the upcoming car is moving -- the worse it is.
This kind of crosswalks should not be allowed anywhere!

The Entire Street is being redone this year with new sewer, storm drainage, pavement, curbs & concrete sidewalks. Work starts mid-May 2011.
