I heard the city came by our block this week too and said they were going to start working on the sewers. I wasn't here so I am not sure what they are planning to do. I would like to be notified as well. Duke is doing a separate project (@Baylink) to replace all the power lines in Jungle Terrace.

I forgot to mention that Duke was informed about the project because their power poles and lines may be impacted. So, the Duke rep came to look at our property to see if what power poles and lines would be affected.
On a separate issue we have been contacted by Duke twice to sign easement documents allowing them use of up to 10 feet of our property. How can I find out if there are any easements already in place? We have found nothing on our deed, in the property records, or the property survey at the time of purchase.

Ah... got it.

Someone posted a ticket a week or two ago suggesting that they thought Duke Energy would be flying past in the black helicopters pretty soon... :-)

Update from John Turner, Wastewater Division Supervisor: We have no open work orders for any jobs on the main sewer line or any lateral lines at the reported address. Any repair requiring utility marking would have a work order made to cover the proposed work and there is none for this location.

If there is no work order on file then why am I getting a notice from All American Concrete that they would be tearing up my yard in the next week and referenced work order #1323252. Also our neighbor contacted Mr. Tony Seufert in the Water Resources Dept. and said they would be starting work in January.

I am your neighbor across the street and I received the same door hanger today. I talked to Tom Jordan, project manager, (works for Tony Siefert) today to find out what they are planning. He said the sewer is about 8" and will be replaced beginning Mon., 1/12. They will come in and remove fences (put in temporary fences for homes with dogs) and put them back when they are done. They will not replace landscaping. Duke is replacing our power lines and I was told by Duke they are coordinating the effort with the city sewer services. Hope this helps!

Good to know. We can't get any information. Unfortunately, we have numerous plants and a 50 year old oak tree at the rear of our property. I can't find any evidence of an existing easement so I don't know how they can legally do this.
