Street sweeping has begun so this issue can be closed. Also,Gateway CC should become a member of our district soon so we should start seeing permanent cleaning from the Downtown Ambassadors.

Whether or not Gateway CC is a member,, that is a public sidewalk that is downtown and should be cared for.

True, what I meant is that we, (Town Green), have not been allowed over there due to Gateway's union issues. Recently we found a way to partner with Gateway so our Ambassadors should be cleaning that area by mid month.

Town Green Ambassadors basically cleans the whole downtown new haven and dont even get raises

They do a great job out there, as for pay, they are paid and get raises as each individual earnes.

btw The saying is that New Haven is the 'gateway' to New England. That's where the name comes from. The highway split is here, Yale is here, and the train station, along with the bus station. Downtown used to be great, too, with the Arena and then the Coliseum, the Shubert and the Palace theaters, shopping district. It was wonderful. It's hard now to tell that it was all that, and now we have like a dump downtown.

if a city official like the mayor was to ask your employees hows the pay and raises what would they say? There out there in all types of weather conditions compensation should be worth it ?

I believe if you ask anyone in the world with a job they will say that they could use a raise. To give a substantial raise would mean that two Ambassadors would loose their job, you can only do what you can with the budget received. Raises come from their company Block by Block anyway, we hire Block by Block to do clean and safe downtown. doing union jobs not fighting for raises..i'm happy i get yearly... anyway Ambassadors does excellent hardworking jobs new haven is happy to have them....keep up the good work
