Thanks for reporting this. A couple of things:
1. Call the police non-emergency number immediately when you see this. 203-946-6316. They will contact the school truancy officers and should dispatch someone immediatley.
2. Could you give the exact time and exact location? Also, if possible, it would be great if you could take a photo of the kids so we can identify them and email it to me: justin.elicker@gmail.com.
This is a problem every year. The truancy officers will track them down if they can catch the kids.

Kind of crossed my mind to rob the kid of his drugs and money. LOL srlsly.
Don't know if the cops, or the truant officer ever showed.
The market, at the corner, wasn't even open, so these kids have no reason to be hanging there, before school.

What is going on at Wilbur Cross? - apparently not much in the way of education.
This morning there were kids roaming all over the neighborhood - strolling along Orange St., in the direction opposite to the school. Kids were getting high, at the gazebo, in College Woods and down by the river, at the end of Orange St.
called the cops; one officer came and shewed the kids away, but did not escort them to school; kids returned to the park and must be totally wasted at this point.
What kind of school is principal Peggy Moore [not] running?

Its good to see responsible folks looking out. Thank you, I do the same.
I've seen the Black Mercedes as well, several times.
and now I see more and more folks doing drug deals
on the corner of Eagle/Nash/Mechanic, on Nash, day and night.
(Not today, because there's construction on the street,
and Police are there plus workers all over the place,
and the street is closed off. What a relief).
This set of problems run so deep and long,
its a cancer that has spread for 40+ years in this city.
(Gee, our current re-elected Mayor has been there for 20 of those years. Hmm...)
Some obvious and very complex contributing factors need to change for the topic at hand to improve:
-Parents need to be held responsible for their kids actions.
-If a parent chooses NOT to parent , then it should be a crime.
-If a kid gets caught with drugs or stealing or doing something stupid,
it shouldn't be looked upon as a "badge of honor".
-There needs to be some seriously annoying repercussion for criminal activity -no matter how young- for BOTH parent and child which kids will SERIOUSLY dread having to go through.
Not this badge of honor crap, gangsta wannabe crap. Its stupid and a giant truck-load of Horse-Pucky that society should not have to put up with. The music/game industry is a prime-mover when it comes to the idolization of these images. Its everywhere.
-Schools should also be penalized for not dealing with these issues. It should go all the way to the top with serious repercussions. That threat needs to be in place for something to be done about it, otherwise, status quo, ad infinitum...
-find the source these kids getting their drugs from.
-find the source of guns these kids can get so easily.
-absentee landlordism is too easy, some "un-named" (for fear of retribution) Companies (as well as rich individuals living in Florida) buy up huge amounts of properties and slumlord/section8 it all out without a care, and make SERIOUS $$$ as a result. Its ruined vast parts of this lovely town, contributing to the topic at hand.
-Conversely, the city/state also should not make it so friggin easy to get/stay on welfare, and for landlords to so easily and automatically collect.
Yes, Hard-Core-EDUCATION is ONE of the MANY keys needed to unlock this super-complex "pain-in-the-you-know-what" problem (rather a symptom). All this would start to help the unravelling of the long chain of events that enable this attitude/philosophy of life. But it could take another 40 years. Hopefully we'll have a NEW mayor by then...
I wish everyone Happy Holidays, thank you to the kid folks of SeeClickFix for providing us with a great site that actually can cause change. And, last but not least: Thanks to ALL of you for looking out for this great town.

It's frustrating that the kids are on the property of that yellow house again. The property owners are unfortunately unwilling to sell the house or fill it with renters. I just reported this to the our district manager so they should keep an eye on the house.
If you see the black Mercedes again try and get the license plate.

The curb strip is littered with cigarette butts, weed baggies, and junk food wrappers.
