I'm still wondering when the engineering dept. is actually going to do something about this intersection. If there are this many varied, but similar concerns then something needs to be done. Should we be sending these posts, including comments to city hall?

Those medians were a stupid idea, as though they had some concrete they needed to use up or something.

Hmm, indeed. Actually when they made that median with the extra concrete, they drove on down to 15th and 15th east and made a median there!
Medians don't really help the flow of traffic unfortunately.

Yes, that is a fair comment, but it's more than simple sign-following. It's about traffic flow. There's quite a bit of traffic along this stretch of road and to have it funnel in awkwardly and fairly abruptly at an equally busy intersection, doesn't make sense.

This is just a weirdly designed intersection altogether. I especially like how when you're driving down 28th headed east, as you approach central ave the two lanes funnel into one lane oh so briefly, (so you HAVE to merge) and then it suddenly flares back out into three lanes! It's almost like the two lanes copulated and multiplied after that brief encounter with each other! Only in PA you say? Pity!
