Thank you for submitting your concern at Van Winkle and Vine. You are correct that it would be safer to have a dedicated right turn pocket for the NB Van Winkle (SR-152) to EB Vine movement. However, to construct this turn pocket would require the purchase of right of way, roadway widening and striping. Currently we do not have a project planned or funded for this intersection. There are a couple of things we can do in the meantime to make drivers more aware of the existing situation. We will add a sign to the mast arm indicating that the right lane is a thru as well as a right turn lane. We can also add pavement messages near the intersection. We appreciate you input and will keep this location on our radar for future improvements.
