A new light is scheduled to be installed as part of the original upgrade that took place. Waiting for PSE&G to install it. It might be delayed because this is a new pole without a pole number on it. I will check with PSE&G. Thank you.

FYI - another serious accident this morning with a drunk driver who fled the scene and crashed into 3 parked cars! As a resident of this community I am not safe and I am asking JC to escalate this request to either place a traffic light, speed bumps, stop signs or possibly all to protect us. Please advise.

We had another super serious and surprisingly not fatal car crash on the corner of Cator and Garfield —- we see the same thing over and over again! The car that crashed into 3 parked cars was completely wrecked and they fled on foot. How can anyone feel safe or feel confident that their car or property won’t be damaged next! The corner is a complete black out spot and drivers (especially those that are speeding or intoxicated) must just not see the parked cars. At this point, there is some
Kind of major incident like this every week! We need the city to take this seriously and install lighting, traffic lights and speed bumps.

The remaining street light mentioned in the earlier comment is being expedited by PSE&G now that the new wooden pole is in their system with a pole number. A request for tree trimming has also been made.

Stop signs and speed humps on Garfield Avenue are not allowed per the State because of the amount of daily traffic. A traffic signal warrant analysis for the intersection of Garfield and Cator is being performed by the City's Division of Traffic Engineering. This is the necessary process for adding a new traffic signal. Although the beginning stages of the investigation for a new signal is underway, I strongly advise making a new See Click Fix request for a new traffic signal at this location in order for it to be tracked properly. Once the lighting and tree trimming is complete this request will likely be closed. Thank you.
