I am writing to request your attention regarding the gravel alleyway adjacent to my property. I kindly propose the installation of a paved surface for the following reasons:
Enhanced Aesthetic Appeal: Paving the alleyway would improve the overall charm of our neighborhood in Saint Petersburg, Florida, and maintain the city's beautiful landscapes.
Improved Accessibility and Safety: A paved surface ensures smoother transportation for pedestrians, bicycles, and motor vehicles, especially during adverse weather conditions. It would also facilitate the safe passage of emergency vehicles.
Reduced Maintenance: A paved road requires less maintenance compared to gravel surfaces, saving time and resources for both the city and residents.
Property Value and Economic Growth: Paved roads contribute positively to property values and attract potential homeowners and businesses, promoting economic growth and a stronger sense of community.

Thank you for reporting this issue to us via SeeClickFix St. Pete. While the City will continue to fill potholes and blade unpaved alleys as needed, it will no longer provide any treatment that is solely cosmetic or decrease the dust produced by passing vehicles on these alleys. An option to help alleviate this problem is to have your neighbors join a Special Assessment District (S.A.D.) to have the alley paved by the City. If a majority of residents in a specific area agree to join, a S.A.D. will be created and funded by the residents affected by the improvements, in this case, a paved alley.
