South Main St. (US 1A) is a NC Department of Transportation Road, the Town has limited input. I will forward your comments and concerns to the District and Division Offices. If enforcement is an issue additional signage and striping adjustments will have little effect. A plan was presented to the public by both the NC DOT and the Town of Wake Forest Planning and Engineering staff’s that proposed a median that would channel traffic and eliminate any potential conflicts. This configuration would also accommodate the heavy southbound turning east onto Rogers Road volumes. This however would effective turn Selsey Drive into a Right-in-Right out treatment. This was met with strong resistance to the adjacent neighborhoods and property owners.

As for the Middle School parents dropping students off into the neighborhood, staff will refer this to the School Principal, however, enforcement or prohibition would be limited due to Selsey Drive being a publically maintained street.

OK. We have the Town Engineer and the WFPD saying it's the other's problem, and not doing anything. Maybe if both would act responsibly and do what they are able, the situation would improve. Meanwhile, the taxpaying residents get no help from the town that is still getting paid.

Did you not understand that the parents are dropping their kids off on a public road and their is nothing wrong with that? What about y'all putting your kids on the bus instead of clogging up South Main with traffic and crying about it?

I live in the adjacent neighborhood and my children go to WF middle. Due to close proximity to the school, there is no bus provided so mine are "walkers". I have them walk on sidewalks to get to school and not cut thru anyone's yard or cause anyone problems. On occasion, I will drive them up Selsey and pull into Tilgate and park on the side to let my children out and stay long enough to see them cross to the other side and on the sidewalk before leaving. I am not blocking Selsey, not blocking a driveway, etc.I don't aim to cause problems, but when going thru carpool myself, I don't care to be hit head on by those using the turn lane as a straight way when returning to my neighborhood. Again, I don't block driveways, kids don't walk thru the yards, don't have loud music, stay only long enough to make sure my kids cross safely. Why would you want just one more vehicle getting on Main when it is congested enough. I have been yelled at by one homeowner that it isn't carpool, and while that is true, it is also a public street and public sidewalk. Thanks
