Until a serious or tragic accident happens... Then the Police department just might take an interest. In the meantime I guess we can all start going the wrong direction on one-way streets in Evanston. When this happens after school, people are in a hurry and not careful. (They probably realize they are breaking the law...) What does Haven and District 65 administration say about this? Ms. Roberson, please take this on before one of our kids gets hurt!!!

Traffic Officers have been in this area since school resumed on Jan. 9th. The Officers have been issuing citations on a regular basis there. We will be concluding the special watch in the area after this week, but will continue to monitor it as the officers are available.

Even though you say that police have been present, somehow they either are blind to the illegal traffic maneuvers or they really aren't present. The police are undermining their own authority if they continue to ignore these issues. People start to think they can get away with anything they want just because they feel like it. Police need to get serious about this, unless of course they are protecting the privilege of violating the law for their chosen friends.

I am not happy about the double standard and intend to take my complaints to my alderman and the press. I have had enough of cars violating the law.
