Martha,
Thanks so much for reporting this fix. I have been pushing for this for a few years now. The good news is that those paint lines showed up recently. Maybe they are actually going to work on this soon.
Happy New Year!

If you do not report it DIRECTLY to Ian Juden in the Engineering Department nothing will get done. Make sure you cc Richard Miller as complaints seem to get lost in this department. 203-946-6417. Only speak to Ian Juden- the other people that answer the phone CLAIM to note your complaint, but it never gets to Mr. Juden.
I recommend a WRITTEN followup email to R. Miller -you can get it off the city's website. They are good about cleaning out the catch basins once Engineering recognizes that there is a pending complaint.
Replacing/repairing the sinking drain may take some time- maybe spring.
State Street needs another street sweeping badly. There are lots of rotting leaves and when the snow falls, it will be a mess and impossible to clear the other storm sewers also. The lack of street sweeping on this major street this year is an absolute disgrace.
I have not FOI'd but it would be great if the folks that responded to SCF issues would be able to provide that info here. We are working with the City to start get a more unified response from all departments.
The storm sewar at the corner of State and Hine Place is also covered with leaves which are rain soaked and now frozen, making it impossible to remove them. There is a parking lot on that corner and the next building is 960 State.
Yes, I saw them the other morning. When I asked how it was going one man said they had their hose stuck in the storm drain, and their was "something" down there. But I didn't linger and I don't know how it was resolved.

HMMM. seems like Mr. Juden is not doing his job to the best of his abilities. Have you FOI'd the "to do" list of catch basin repairs ???
I agree with the lack of street sweeping this fall, but all over town, not just State Street., seems they put the trucks away before the leaves fell.
