The entire project is a joke! The machine in front of the Post Office hasnt moved in days, people are having to leave for work 15 minutes earlier than normal, just to make sure they get through that area in enough time to get to work. You started the project FINISH IT and lets get back to an easier commute to and from work

i agree. people arent respecting the changes. i ride the street every day because i live in that area. when coming down whalley ave across from dunkin donuts going towards woodbridge, the 2lanes have now become 1 straight lane & 1 right turn only lane. it causes a confusion when cars want2 turn into DD. STOP HERE needs 2 be right between DD & the store with both sides(going into New Haven as well) letting left traffic turn 1st so they can either flow into DD the store or turn left onto E. Ramsdell from the other side. they HAVE to let that turn traffic go 1st. & also the timing of how long these lights stay green is essential. people turning into the Diner is also a problem. they should have a turn lane & u should only be able to turn into the diner from Glenview Terr. I hope these changes are temporary but DOT or the city should take all concerns & suggestions from travelers into their completion of this project, especially in memory of that little girl.

This is getting worse and worse EVERY DAY! The police need to do their job - ticket people. It will bring in a lot of money for the city!

As a law-abiding citizen, I get so annoyed that I sit in that left lane for ten and fifteen minutes while the law-breakers zoom down the right-turn only lane only to go straight at the last minute. I hope the NHPD will intervene, start ticketing, and end the problem.

I live on Glenview Terrace and this intersection is a nightmare! I can't even take a right onto my own street because people are not following the turn only lane. They go through the intersection and cut off the traffic that has the right of way to go straight. Also the traffic lights are ill timed so the intersection never clears of traffic. Traffic backs up to the point that a trip to the neighborhood daycare center is no longer 3 minutes it's 20!

Nope! Its worse then ever. People abuse the turn lane causing more problems!

This issue is still unresolved after 4 months. The roadwork project also remains unfinished. For the sanity of everyone who drives through this intersection, an explanation from public works as to why this is taking so long would be appreciated.

I travel this way to my Credit Union and its a nightmare, Im constantly being cut off or I get stuck in the intersection because of drivers who where in the turn lane went straight and there was no room for me to get in to the lane. I think they really need to post a traffic cop here and start issuing some tickets. Then maybe some of the congestion will clear up.

Light in Walgreens plaza now changed so that no right on red. Have waited for 3 -5 cycles as intersection is usually blocked on wk ends. I no longer shop at that plaza for that reason. Thanx for the nightmare New Haven traffic dept.

Lets face it, this whole intersection is now a HUGE NIGHTMARE! Traffic now is heavier in the neighborhood behind Brueggers plaza because of this intersection - and yup, Im one of them that will follow suit. I avoid the entire area from CVS to Walgreens as much as humanly possible...using the neighborhood and Fountain as my new traffic pattern.

You mean SCF has had this for 9 months and things have gotten worse ?

I don't think its up to SCF to fix the issues, but its up to the City/State agencies that oversee these issues to atleast respond somehow. This issue is acknowledged, but I see no comments from any City/State agencies. Maybe they figure once construction is completed it will work itself out- now it's 10 months later........Do I hear another theme of WHY DOESN'T THE NHPD ISSUE ANY TRAFFIC INFRACTIONS FOR WHAT SEEMS TO BE CLEAR VIOLATIONS OF THE LAW !!!

Won't see me in that area patronizing businesses- avoiding it like the plaque- too many drivers making their own rules.

The lights cycles aer now longer than before and are causing more drivers to try and beat the light. I almost got hit attempting to turn into Walgreens from 63- the turn went green but so many people blew the light I had to wait twice and the people in the thru lane while I was waiting I counted 6 cars thru the red in two cycles- can u say FREE FOR ALL

This is a state project which will be a year before completion. The state will be contacted to see if some temporary changes are possible to alleviate congestion at this intersection. Your concerns are noted and we will follow up as more information becomes available.

Thanx for the info, but sorry to say no flag at emerson intersection, which btw is not the problem its the 63/69 split at the Walgreens plaza thats the issue- light at Foweler St needs to be timed with the green at 63 so it doesnt turn red and only allow 5-6 cars before backing up traffic and causing gridlock in the 63/69 intersection

So what was the goal of these changes? Traffic calming? Obviously it's not happening! It's called THROTTLING.

We also cannot get into plaza because we cannot get out of it without 6 or seven complete cycles before we get a green light.
