Description

The city workers that are responsible for collecting trash look in bags and throw them on the ground and than kick the trash around creating filth through out the city! Contributing to our rodent problem. Any trash that falls on the ground when putting it in the truck stays on the ground and seems to not be their responsibility of bending over and picking it up. Who’s responsibility is it to clean up after the garbage man on trash day? Isn’t there a fine for littering? Why is this a constant problem that doesn’t seem to be fixed? Is this part of living in Fall River to accept the trash that is left behind by city workers?

We have asked that the Department of Public Works look into this problem and speak with their employees. If you have a particular area where this occurring please notify the Mayor's Office and we will look into it.

The recycling people are just as bad. I have seen them drop & break glass containers and leave them in the middle of the street. This is a huge issue, city wide.

Perhaps their job description needs to be edited to include picking up after themselves.

This is been going on for years! I had a trash bin knocked over when the recycle truck was moving trying to pick up the blue bin. He stuck the arm out before stopping and it hit the trash bin knocking it over and trash went all over. He pulled the arm back in...lined up to the recycle bin, emptied it and put it back and drove off. I had to go out and pick up the trash ! I guess we need to screen city workers and what they do as workers for the people who pay their salary !
