Please extend the shoulders of the road or add a proper bike lane to Clemson Road. I have to travel this route daily and I am uncomfortable with the proximity of passing cars to my position.

I agree. Wider roads with bike lanes make roads more safe for everyone and encourage both cyclists and motorists to be a little safer and more responsible. I didn't know choosing an environmentally responsible/cheaper mode of transportation was childish. I guess I'm just a kid at heart :)
WIS10 should take a bike ride on this road and let us know what they think!

Ashey Larry...I agree to an extent; there are many cyclists who think they own the road, especially in groups. Just as much as feel that motorists should be required to learn about cyclist's rights and responsibilities on the road, I believe cyclists should be aware that when on public roads, they must behave as traffic.
Be aware that cyclists do have a right to ride within the bounds of the roadway and are legally entitle to a minimum of three feet space when passing. Maybe if a better infrastructure and education was in place, we could all share the roads in peace.
As an adult, I never felt that cycling was reverting back to my childhood. Having moved from a larger city with adequate public transportation, my family has been used to getting by with only one car. With my wife's need to shuttle kids to and from school and activities, she needs the car. Until I can afford to purchase a second automobile, I will continue to use my bicycle as a means of transportation. And believe me; I follow the law and I promise I don't think I own the road.
