you mentioned the curb-to-curb width will likely not allow for a wider shoulder without construction (restriping). You mentioned that there is an adjacent outcropping of ledge, which may or may not belong to us, this will make such a project more difficult and costly. I have forwarded your concern for staff review. This section of the roadway is striped as two lanes in each direction. As a cyclist, you are within your rights, and should, ride in the center of the right hand lane if the shoulder is not wide enough to provide a safe operating space. Because there are two lanes, cars have the opportunity to pass you on this incline. While taking the lane can sometimes feel inappropriate it is the safest place for you in this situation, offering you 11' of operating space.constituent,
