@ Slumlord, I guess you know that it's PI to speak of sending someone back to Ghana but I completely agree that that owner should be punished for exploiting poor people who don't speak English and don't know our system. If he is to be shipped anywhere, why not save taxpayer $$$ and just force him to live in one of his own mold and vermin-infested buildings?
@z two of the 3 comments on immigration status ("I suppose that he was brought in legally" and "I wonder if the squatters are in the country legally?") refers to the squatters (presumably refugees from IRIS) not the people preying on refugees.
Actually, the people who own[ed] 17, 30, 67 Nash (and 1023 State St.) are preying on the Goatville/East Rock / New Haven community. The Gyamfis do not pay their water/sewer bills, nor do they maintain their properties and the land records indicate that the Gyamfis don't pay their mortgages either.
Also, knowing that people enter the USA under the pretense of being sponsored by a "relative", it is a legitimate question to pose, considering the border line criminal behavior, if the Gyamfis entered the country legitimately, or if their entry was as ethically challenged as their behavior following their arrival in the USA.
