241 and 247 are badly flooded as well.
Flood water from 241 drains through side yard between 247 on to Greendale and the catch basin in front of 258 can’t is flooded over into street.

I read the Department of Public works response from the Select Boards meeting on Tuesday 8/15/2023. It was reported by Director Carys Lustig that this was a “1000 year event”. For us this situation is a one week event!

As of today 8/18/2023, No one from the Town has reached out in regards to these posts. I’m sure this will go on deaf ears, as it has for the last 40 years.

Still waiting for a response from the town.

I have notified our DPW Water, Sewer and Drain staff to investigate the storm drains in this area. Once they have performed their investigation we will report our findings.
The storm flooding that occurred on 8/8/23 was due to the short duration very intense rain storm and caused flooding in numerous areas throughout town. These types of storms far exceed the capacity of the town's brooks/streams and storm drain system in various areas along with their tributaries and outfalls.

This has been happened for many years, not just this one storm. It has been reported throughout the years and nothing is done about it.
This year, it has happened 3 times.

WSD Division staff were on site and have CCTV'd (ran a camera through) the pipe between Greendale Ave and Virginia Rd to inspect the drain lines in the area. There were no clogs or blockages in the pipe and pipe line is in good condition. Please feel free to call the Water, Sewer & Drain Division office at the DPW to further discuss this situation.

My question would be since the pipe is from around 1945 is the pipe large enough to handle the water from the upgraded drains on Virginia Rd? There are 2 storms drains across from each other on Virginia Rd that takes water downhill from Parker Rd.

Or does the catch basin need to be cleaned out since I don’t think it has ever been done.
