It's a constant struggle Every year to keep this lot maintained. It is supposed to be on the city's "rotation list" but is always ignored!

Yes, this is supposed to be on a rotation for cleaning and it always falls on residents to raise this up via See Click Fix. But leave it to the city to jack up everyone’s taxes and continue providing poor services.

I have heard the the DOT is supposed to be creating a park area there.
I have followed up with the city on this project.

Thank you Jersey City for allowing DOT to allow our communities to be treated like a dump. So city takes no sense of ownership and is unable to be our advocate?

At the very least the city should have a liaison with these outside entities.
They should be making the call - or something simpler: have the DOT put us on a regular maintenance schedule.

It is repeatedly like this. Residents have to file See Click Fix requests and then we get the runaround. This should not have to fall on residents over and over again.

Brian, code compliance inspector -- I believe this piece of property is in the 2013 agreement between JC and DOT wherein in the city agreed to maintain these rights-of-way in return for certain improvements the state made for them. Please look into this matter and get it done right.

Who is getting the violation: DPW?
As another commenter shared, there is an existing agreement where DPW is supposed to upkeep these lots. The city needs to enforce agreements and in this case, it appears Jersey City is violating the agreement.

Code Compliance does not have jurisdiction over any goverment agencies. The O.C.C. does not have a special contact to notify them. If DPW has an agreement with the DOT, Code Complaiance is not aware.
