As a resident of Barclay Farm, I'm against having a traffic light at Kresson & Pearlcroft. It would only encourage MORE cars to cut through our neighborhood at warp speed. We feel Pearlcroft should be cut in half and put 2 cul de sacs mid-way instead. Otherwise name it Pearlcroft Freeway.
People who live in Barclay know how to turn left onto Kresson at an already existing traffic light. As for those speeding through our neighborhood, using it for a shortcut, they can be stuck waiting all day to turn left onto Kresson for all I care.

I disagree with the above comment made by homesweethome. Traffic lights enhance safety. The amount of traffic would not be any different than without a light. You sound like a senseless, cold, brute, who doesn't even seem to care about safety for even children, across the street at Johnson School. The light could help with pedestrian accommodations for students at the school, and even the average pedestrian or cyclist. We pay plenty of high taxes, for one thing, they should really consider this. Even repave Kresson Road, since 90 percent of it is in terrible disrepair, as with most county roads.

Devon, I'm not a cold, brute; I'm a mom with children in Barclay Farm and get tired of cars speeding through our neighborhood looking for a way to get to Kresson road & avoid traffic on Brace Rd. Some cars do 50 mph down Pearlcroft. That's ridiculous. I do care about chilren's safety; I've worked for years in a trauma center & know too well about what car accidents to do people. Barclay kids attend Russell Knight school, not Johnson school so they wouldn't have to cross Kresson Rd there anyway. No one who lives in Barclay (that I know anyway) wants a light there.
You sound like someone who wants a more convenient shortcut through my neighborhood...

Let's get a light here already. With dedicated turn lanes, this intersection could be improved just like at East. We don't want backups due to people making a left onto Kresson.
