The buses should be routed to Dean Street. Dean street only has houses on one side of the road and is "less" of a hazard than concord. And it is only one block away from it's current location.

Agreed. I even spoke to some of the bus driviers. They agree. The buses are mostly empty also. Dean or Townsend. Also, the bus driver who drives at the hours I have been writing to the supervisor for a year about told me no one has spoken to them. Nice to know CTTransit is taking us seriously. If the buses are empty is also a huge waste of taxpayer money. Someone in Hartford is starting to listen. Will update as it goes forward. Move the buses or lose the route CT Transit.
I take the bus, at different hours of day and evening. We have one car and enjoy public transportation. You can't just move people. The bus also stops several times on Concord, so there is no way the driver could possibly get up to the speeds you are talking about. Sounds like somebody doesn't like buses in their neighborhood. I've never seen such complaining in a neighborhood. I will speak up for those of us who do take the bus!
Not sure who closed this. This is not about doing away with bus service in the Cove. This conversation is about making the streets safe for the neighborhood families and keeping the buses and saving tax payer dollars. It's simple. There are two other streets one that borders Tweed and one that's a state highway with fewer residences. It makes total sense. And it will likely save a life.
The buses do speed down Concord Julia, if the bus doesn't need to stop then has no reason to slow down. When your child gets hit by a speeding bus you'll be turning to these postings for proof of years of complaints on the subject.
