As a resident of Wharfside commons I see non residents constantly passing through the property from Green St to Ferry. and Vice versa. They often stop and urinate in the property elevators as well as smoke and drink in the properties fire safety rooms, the property used to be nice but the non residents and transient people that use it as a bathroom are making the property a disgusting place to live

[:(] Please know that I empathize with you as you read my following response.
As a former homeless person & as a person who was finally able to get on a housing program that I have sucsessfully mantained for the last 11 years, I am not at all suprised at the declining conditions of Ferry St..
Many of us never got excited when they proposed to raze the old & build the new. H.U.D. was involved. So we new that what they were actually building was Warehousing with a facelift. They knew it before they drew up the plans. You may be sucsessful at abating it in temporary spurts; but it will not end completely. I would like to vote to fix this one; but it would be like sewing buttons on ice cream...an exercize in futility. My only suggestion is move.
I'm not a fatalist, I'm a realist.
May you be blessed!

When was the property nice? My guess would be right after they built the project but before they let anyone move in. I knew someone who moved into there right when it opened. I tried to warn her but she was blinded by how nice the place looked. She moved in with her two young children and couldn't move out fast enough. There were drug dealers living in the apartment next door and would cause a ruckus sometimes until 3:00 AM. And that was just the one neighbor. Then a month later there was a shooting there. So once again, when was this project nice?
To quote our president. "You can put lipstick on a pig. It's still a pig."

NEAT (ضيف)
NEAT hosts a Community Policing and Code Enforcement meeting on the first Friday of the month. One of the issues that has been brought up there is the lack of responsiveness of the Wharfside Management to ensuring that the building is safe and decent. Additionally, they were planning on putting up a fence so that people couldn't access the parking lot from Green St., but with changes in the property manager, it hasn't happened.
If you are interested in becoming more involved in making this happen, please contact NEAT at neat@neatmiddletown.org, call at 860-346-4845 or just stop in at 654 Main St.
This problem won't be solved unless we have numbers of people who get involved.

The lack of "responsiveness" of the Warfside Management is BY DESIGN!! It's part of "AGENDA 21".
Fences are only heeded by law abiding people. The lawless care nothing about fences. They will just go through/over or under them.
