I'd suggest calling 311 and reporting the issue to Animal Control, especially if you know when the offenders usually walk their dogs. But yeah, this is just terrible, not picking up after your dog outside a school for the blind! Let me know if you have any questions or if I can help with anything else. They 2 young men walked together yesterday at a different time, closer to 5 PM. Other people who also walk dogs are always on the phone so they are oblivious to what the dog is doing, EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE TO STOP FOR THE DOG TO DEFECATE, and are therefore unavailable to pick it up. Right !
There is also one dog who goes on the sidewalk-that's right-at the blind school where people use canes to navigate the sidewalk. The city has been of no help although they claim to need money. Does anyone have any idea how to stop this ? It is getting warm and the summer brings the scent of steaming feces as well as urine.

I have now taken pictures of the dog feces located on the 1900 block of Wynnewood Rd. This area was formerly a grassy area but it was cemented over so the small children could enter and exit their buses coming and going to OVERBROOK SCHOOL FOR THE BLIND. DOES ANYONE CARE TO TAKE A WILD GUESS WHY THE GRASS WAS REPLACED BY CEMENT? CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN WHY THE DOG DROPPINGS WOULD BE LEFT THERE. HERE IS THE SIGN ON THE WALL...

Yesterday on Friday April 16, I witnessed a young man walking a large white pit bull and carrying a yellow trash bag outside the OSB. The dog stopped, defecated on the sidewalk near the street twice but the young man holding the bag and the leash did not make any attempt to pick up the droppings at all. He walked away with the dog toward 64th Street. Dogs should be removed from such owners in this neighborhood.

This continues to be an issue. Perhaps enforcing the fine would help

People who are too lazy to clean up after their dogs do not need to own dogs. They are ruining the city for everyone, themselves included. There are too many dogs to one owner. There must be limits or the animal hoarders will multiply if nothing is done to enforce the fines and catch the perpetrators.

This is the 19th Police District. Anyone can report a perpetrator to the authorities if they have a picture or 2 or 3 witnesses to support the incident. Pictures, videocams, and surveillance could also be used to identify these foul offenders and the people who report do not have to identify themselves publicly if they have the proper evidence to the police. This anonymity and failure to report facts also needs to stop.

And the piles keep multiplying. Isn't this a fineable offense as well as a public health issue ?

Maybe we should form a committee to publish the addresses of the dog owners who walk their dogs and do not pick up after them, then, gather all the dog poop the known offender has left into a big trash bag and leave it at their front door if the police refuse to get involved. Perhaps, that will give him the message to stop such offenses. Street justice.

This is Councilman's Curtis Jones district, bombard his office with calls everyday several times a day by friends, family and anyone who has a phone and see's dog crap on the sidewalk at the school and find these conditions unsanitary and mind blowing.
