This will only help you and not the general population, but in my experience if you move up so your front tires are on that first white line the light changes almost instantly. I believe the light only triggers based on underground weight sensors, but the sensors are too far forward.

The vehicle detectors you refer to are rectangular in shape or some times square. This intersection works well 99 % it seems because you have difficulty triggering the detector. Please try this as a reference. When you pull up to the white line stay to the left without getting into the wrong lane. Please try this and if it does not work let me know. The photo I attached shows the first car in line pulled up to the crosswalk and on the yellow lines. The traffic signal still cycled multiple times without giving a green light on St Peter. This problem only occurs every few months but results in cars having to cross the intersection on a red light.

The light 50 feet down the road still cycles the left turn into the apartment building every cycle delaying the bypass road. Maybe we could combine parts from the two and make one work or just put them all on flash. The only traffic problem is the traffic these lights create.
