This issue has never been addressed, I'm not sure why the city offers this website if no one responds. It's been 270 days, this could be a spring project. I'm happy to call someone at the City if i knew who to call and who would do something. The alley has not caused my home flooding and I could use some help. If anyone reads this could you alert Michael Wojcik.
I sent this to staff, I thought they graded the area last spring. The city policy, which I strongly disagree with is that all capital maintenance in alleys is to be 100% paid for by the adjacent properties, because the alley's just serve those homes. However, if you lived on one of our more than 600 public cut-de-sacs, the city would have a full maintenance schedule. The one thing that we will do is continue to grade on request.
The city actually doesn't offer this service. I asked them to do so 2 years ago and it has not yet happened. As such I monitor this site and just forward things to staff. I will once again be asking to change the city policy this year. I would encourage you to bring this up at a HSNA meeting.
Thank you so much for the detailed feedback, Michael. What is HSNA? I'd be glad to attend and support this change. Because the alley north of this one, asphalted theirs, and it is a hill, it creates even more water flow and damage. My house is the last one and has totally damaged my garage and possibly its foundation. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks for monitoring this site. I submitted this in 2015 and no resurfacing has been fone. It's affecting my garage and I am thinking of legal action. The alley is plowed by the city so there is city maintenance. What ate my options?
