Good Morning. Engineering Department has looked into the claim with respect to damaged drainage lines due to the installation of the utility pole. To the best of the Engineering Department knowledge we have no known drainage pipe in the immediate vicinity of the installation location of the utility pole. The known utility piping was premarked for dig safe purposes and the installed pole should not of caused damaged to those utilities. If the resident knows of additional drainage piping and or private utilities please feel free to reach out to me, Jeff Hillman at 978 829 1900.
With respect to the water on the road way surface. We have been seeing a rising in stormwater run off through out the city with the rise in significant rain event, frequency, duration, and intensity for the last few years now. This change in the ecosystem along with the expansion of developments with buildable land and upgrades in the surrounding utilities, private and municipal has lead to challenges with managing storm water runoff through out the City and surrounding/neighboring roadways.
