The Town of Superior placed the Goose Crossing signs in response to reports of near misses and one direct hit to a goose as well as vehicles swearving to avoid geese. The intent is to bring awareness to drivers and encourge all to slow down and observe any potential hazards such as wildlife. Once the migratory geese leave Town, the resident goose population will return to normal and the need for the signage will decrease.

WAKE UP TOWN OF SUPERIOR!!! The problem is NOT PEOPLE DRIVING CARS, IT IS RADICAL TOWN OFFICIALS WHO DO NOTHING TO REMOVE THE UNWANTED GEESE BUT FEEL COMPELLED TO PUT UP "GOOSE CROSSING" SIGNS.
There needs to be an immediate GOOSE REMEDIATION PROJECT. There are literally thousands of geese in our parks and green spaces. Each goose deposits 1.5 pounds of feces each day. That means well over 1,000 pounds of poop left every single day in our parks, green-spaces, and ponds. That is unhealthy and dangerous!
We don’t need signs for this. This is a complete waste of resources. Surely there are better things to spend time on that would actually improve the town.
Agreed. All-caps rhetoric aside, these signs are ugly and ineffective. If all it took to slow down traffic on RCP was a couple of yellow signs, we could have avoided the entire remediation discussion.
In the future, if the ToS is officially sanctioning lawn signs (which are generally believed to be unlawful in town and against Rock Creek HOA policy), they should include the Town logo to avoid confusion.
