I guess I did not put my post up the right way, today Sunday April 12th, the punk dirt bike club was out in full force. Seventeen of them went through the red light at Route 80 and Quinnipiac. I proceeded as usual and if I ran threm over, oh well. they burned the light and had the audacity to give me the finger and a few f u's because I was not stopping for these little hooligans. Then again. they on Forbes a hour later burning the lights and yahooing I called in both times and got a dead uneventful response. In all reality what are they going to do, by the time they get there they are causing havoc somewhere else/. But I will tell the police they do have scanners just by watching from my chair cuz one lives up the street on Clifton but someone is going to get killed.

Please call the police and give them the address of the dirt bikers in you neighborhood. There is a relatively new law on the books that allows the police to confiscate the bikes and demand over $ 1000 to release the bikes (basically the kids don't get their bikes back).

And all us ClickFixers may want to start thinking about another concerted telephone call campaign to the mayor's office. Mayor Harp and Chief Esserman need to know this is a BIG quality of life issue for those of us living outside of the downtown bubble.

Mayor who ! haven't seen her since she came into office. Does she have a clue what is going on in this city. If I was the Mayor of this city I would hide in shame. Its absolutely filthy, dirty disgusting den of litter. And if I had the money I would be gone in a heartbeat. And if drive around take a good look at all the FOR SALE signs.....

Lots of for sale signs. Speeding buses. Dirt bikes. Police presence on Townsend only which I am grateful for but I think the neighborhood deserves some of the tax money we spend...not just the representatives and people with power on Townsend...who actually don't get that much love, but certainly more than we do. Does anyone have the number for the new Sargent?

Have you also noticed that our streets are in the worse shape of New Haven? It seems Mr. Yale who is not taxed has better roads that the Cove. It has to end.

In addition, the buses are horrible. Well some of them and they are empty. If we need the bus service which we do, we need less of it and it needs to get off of Concord. Houses on both sides. Move them. If they want to speed go to Dean. If CT Transit is unable to control their drivers than Townsend will slow them down to the speed limit. If no one is willing to deal with these issues, we will do it as a neighborhood. I have already started the discussion with reps in Hartford as our rep for New Haven seems unwilling to address the issues in the Cove, unless its the seawall where he lives. Lets be heard.

He will respond to emails and calls. If you report a known ATV or dirt bike location to him, he will investigate and confiscate the machines.

Not everyone who owns a dirtbike rides it on the streets. Some are registered with DMV and trailered to Thomaston Dam to ride LEGALLY. How can you confiscate them from the owners when they aren't being ridden illegally?
