This is a major problem. Generally the bike lanes don't get painted until early June. Children use this route to get from Edmunds School to the North End. We have repeatedly asked for better signage for this route to make it safer. Nicole Losch at Public Works and Norm Baldwin have both for years refused to address this dangerous situation. The MUTCD clearly states that the signage should be clear and consistent. Both the on street markings and the above ground signs are out of compliance with nationally recognized safety standards. I would encourage Chapin Spencer to address this dangerous situation immediately and in a way that doesn't create the same problem next winter.

Is there a place on the DPW website to see what areas are being painted and when?

I would love to get a look at the spring re-striping plan as it applies to bike lanes around town, and would love to know if it also includes sharrows (on other streets where they have previously existed).

DPW said the painting starts mid May. It is almost June. Is there a time frame for the painting? Why does it wear off every winter and then take so long to repaint if we know that?

Agreed. Lanes all over town are worn away to the point of being nonexistent. Roads have been clear and full of bikes for months already. Please make fixing ALL the on street lanes in town a priority.
