Cars consistently speeding far in excess of posted limits. No enforcement so far. Please start with school buses.
Seriously, this is a city road. People use it to avoid a state maintained road. Seems like a no brainer to me the city could clean up with speeding tickets There. They could easily net $1000 dollars a day.
I agree with the school bus thing too. They zoom through the neighborhood. The best I think we can all do for now is to maintain 25 mph or slower when driving here in the the hills. This will discourage people from cutting through at least a little bit. After all they are cutting through to save time, if you can make it longer for them to use it then maybe they will use rt 122 instead.
I like the traffic jog recently installed on Vista Terrace and I do believe it has effectively reduced the speed of traffic going up and down that hill. I'd love to see more of these on Marvelwood and elsewhere.
As for enforcing speed limits, I can think of no greater benefit than increasing neighborhood safety. Although it would be nice if the City received a larger economic share, this fundamentally is about correcting behavior and protecting the public interest, not about revenue. That protecting the public is what the police do, and they should pull over any speeders, whether from Woodbridge or the neighborhood.
Any resident who complains about receiving a ticket in their own neighborhood needs to take a time out.
