Greetings City of Salem Leadership,
If we are unable to get a South Salem Station anytime soon, can we at least get a request for the city to advocate to have the MBTA bus plan for the 455 going down the Lynnway expedited.
The 455 is painfully slow to get to Wonderland going through all of Central Lynn/Lynn Commons, yet Marblehead and Swampscott residents get the Lynnway route to Wonderland via the 442. The 450 already goes down Highland/Western Ave, so there is no need for the 455 to also turn at Market Street to meet up with the 450 and 426 near the Lynn Commons. Have the 455 meet with Marblehead's 442 at the junction of Broad St-Pleasant Street-Lynnway instead of turning back on to Market Street.
Additionally, please advocate for the return of the 459 bus to Logan/Boston. This was an incredibly useful route that is dearly missed. Without the South Salem Station, the Commuter Rail to Chelsea to the SL3 is not a reasonably viable means of public transportation to Logan or South Station for South Salem residents. The Downtown and Swampscott stations are just too far to make that viable. These changes would take my car off of the road more often.
