Landlords contractor installed 5 electrical baseboard heaters in November, tenant move in December, landlord is in disbelief of leaks coming from apartment 3 and that’s 1st electrical bill is $905, 2nd electrical bill $805 and 3rd electrical bill $485 for unit 2. Prior to signing lease to apartment 2 landlord never stated he was changing heating system from gas to electrical we wouldn’t have signed if that was the case as electrical is much more expense for the 3 months we been at apt 2, our current balance is almost $2,000.00 dollars. Landlord contractor is not an electrician.

Q. Describe the conditions.
A. Leakage kitchen ceiling and wall, master bedroom and laundry room. Electrical baseboards not working properly and current charges for 3 months from national grid close to $2,000.00 for apartment 2. Highest bill apartment 3 heating $168.00 in summer AC $200. Bathroom behind toilet landlord’s contractor who changed gas heating to electrical baseboards left an open space that can see numerous pipes could be gas and access to rodents.
Q. How long have these conditions existed?
A. January 2024 leaks kitchen ceiling and wall, bedroom and laundry room. December 2024 Electrical baseboards not working properly, since installed from gas to electrical and connected to current circuit by landlord contractor who is not an electrician. January 2024 Bathroom behind toilet uncovered.
Q. Have you reported these conditions to the landlord?
A. Yes Leaks High National Grid bill baseboards not working properly. Bathroom open space behind the toilet.
