We will be sending a cleanup crew tomorrow morning first thing to address this fish kill. SPTO will continue to respond until there are no fish remaining for at least 48 hours. With the history of these ponds and known depth of the ponds it is likely a turnover event occurred. This is where unoxygenated water from the bottom was mixed with the top and starved the fish of oxygen.
We will take oxygen readings to confirm to coincide with the cleanup efforts. Please keep in mind that the stormwater system including pipes, inlets, and outfalls are City maintained but in this community the ponds themselves are private assets. Thank you for reporting to See-Click-Fix.
