Albuquerque Fire and the property owners do not have the authority toch "allow" or "approve" parking in the fire lane. Only under direct orders from a police officer or firefighter during an emergency and must be moved when the emergency has ended. Please have the parking enforcement division retrain their officers.

As per another 311 regarding this issue- IPS has the permission of both AFD and the store manager of the property to park in front of the store at the fire lane.

On 4/11/2024 I parking enforcement officer D. Benson arrived to 2950 central Ave SE. Upon arrival no IPS vehicles were parked in fire lane vehicles were parked in designated area. No citations were issued.
