Our family has owned the 304 Ocean Blvd, Carolina Beach, since 1975. Behind our property, use to be a deep ditch for stormwater run off. Since 2004 with the construction of 1318 Snapper Lane at Carolina Beach, the ditch was covered, for some reason by either the town or the contractor. Therefore, our property started having minor flooding, whereas we did not have any flooding before. Now, since 2019 and 2020, with the new construction of 1319 & 1317 Swordfish Lane at Carolina Beach (our neighbors), our property is flooded constantly to the point that we have sever water damage to the ductwork, floors, etc.. We have reached out to town officials multiple times over the past 3-4 years with no resolution no compensation, and no answers. This is a problem brought on by the planning and zoning department whom has passed the construction and codes of these condos with no regard to the existing surrounding properties.
