Within and on our property line is a “city” drainage ditch which we (wife and I) have attempted to keep clear for the last 35 years. The pillage has migrated down to our crawl space. Now, at our age, 77 and 86 respectively, we are at a point of being unable to get down and crawl around to keep it clean. Over the years we have had serious dialog with the Huntsville city grounds and engineering staff attempting to reach a solution and have the ditch cleaned annually or installed with covered piping; each discussion has ended negatively with the city refusing any action and stating that there is little chance of overflow or house flooding. The ditch is filling up with erosion and debris now. (Photographs attached). It is time again for discussions and a SOLUTION.
