Pedestrian safety issue, blind corner:
There really needs to be a lighting system that warns oncoming traffic when there is a pedestrian using the crosswalk on the north side of East River Road at N 1st Ave!! I have almost run into pedestrians at this "blind" intersection/corner twice now. If a car is driving West on East River Road and goes to make a right turn onto N 1st Ave, the view of the closest side/half of crosswalk around the corner is blocked and/or hard to see until the last minute, and the approach speed when the light is green is fairly high, (due to having a separate lane for turning right there) and so it's really easy to being taking that corner at an unsafe rate of speed and then not see a pedestrian until the last moment!! There needs to be a lighting system to warn oncoming cars that there is a pedestrian in the crosswalk crossing the street. Unless the obstruction can be removed, but I think it is a byproduct of the shape/curve of the street at that location. Thank you for investigating this deadly street corner.
