I am not sure if this is a village issue or a school issue but I have never encountered any significant problems with flooding or standing water in those years. However, this year, there has been a noticeable change, and the southwest corner of the field is not draining (behind 1960 Cosman Way). The grass is a giant puddle and you can see the standing water by the tree line. It has not rained in a while and the water is still there and not draining. As we approach summer this could have major mosquito, safety hazards, and health implications. I am no expert but I believe it is directly linked to the recent clearing of many different trees and shrub.
