I also agree and have considered bringing this very specific one up before myself. I'm not big on ticketing hard working individuals for little things just cause I know what that's like. I parked on a nearby street I was unfamiliar with one time and was instantly ticketed and it was not fun, so I try cut people some slack. This truck (and trailer) however, is Constantly parked on the street overnight. I mean all the time. Not a one time thing. And its the last house before a corner stop sign that could easily be overlooked or run through, especially given it is behind both the large pickup and the trailer, which would obscure view for longer than that of just a vehicle by itself (even if space after the truck but before the sign is left) to anyone unfamiliar with the corner.

There is often space for At Least one within what appears to be their driveway (if not both), even if that requires more effort upon the part of the owner. Again, I have nothing against them, but if nobody else is allowed to remain parked in such a manner, I don't see why one should be the exception.

I guess that Andrew (of the mayor's office) didn't forward this or didn't follow up on it as the afore mentioned truck and trailer still park at said location and I've never gotten a response as to why they're allowed to do so or if they pay an annual fee or what. Guess I'm not really surprised, but keeping hoping that I'll hear from someone.

In terms of parking the current rules are broken. At least in my neighborhood there are more cars than there are driveways to put them in. The city has responded in the short term by not enforcing the law at all -- not really a solution. The City Council (maybe the Committee on Public Safety) is suppose to draft up new ordinances that can make reasonable accommodations for our neighbors, but solve long term problems like you describe. I recommend sending a message to council@lansingmi.gov to urge them to take up this issue. Maybe they can get something in place before snow plowing season.

Commercial vehicles are not allowed in residential neighborhoods much less parked in a driveway on private property. See MUNICODE website for Zoning Ordinance 1248. But that also doesn't mean that Code Compliance will enforce the codes even when there is a Court ordered judgment.

You are correct about the ordinance and Zoning has been very helpful, but I do need the address to proceed on this matter.

This issue was turned over to LPD and I will follow-up on it.

Once again, this is not the most pressing issue that anyone has to investigate, but when someone says that they'll follow up on it, I tend to take them at their word. I guess I'm impatient, as it's only been almost 2 months.

Call and try to get others to call every singe night there park there so the night shift gets it not the day shift
