Description

At the on-ramp onto I-65N from Cool Springs Blvd Westbound, three lanes (2 coming from Cool Springs Blvd. eastbound and 1 coming from westbound) are forced to merge into one lane as the ramp leads onto I-65N. At present, there is NO indication that the two right lanes will have to merge into the left lane, thereby causing much confusion during peak traffic times. I've witnessed many accident scenes that were the result of this fact. Whoever designed the ramp with all three lanes merging at once failed completely to take into consideration that there might be three solid lanes of traffic having to somehow blend into one lane. Even if the rightmost lane (coming from Cool Spring Blvd. westbound) is supposed to yield, the right/middle lane still is completely unaware that they are to merge into the left, due to lack of signage indicating thus. So, in short, there needs to be signs warning drivers of the merge into one lane on the on-ramp.
