The street in front of my home is MLK South and has a narrow sidewalk and then the street. No grassy area to place the container. The front of my home is fenced and there is a 2 foot retaining wall in front. Where would you like the container?

Dear St. Petersburg Resident,

Please remember that this recycling program has been designed to be used across the entire city. Although you may not have access from the back of your house to the front, the vast majority of homes in the city do. Some citizens who would like to store the container in back of their houses may need to make a modification to their fence by adding a gate. Alternatively, the container can be stored on the side of the house where it will be less conspicuous from the front. Your particular circumstance may not allow this (if your fence comes up very close to the front of your house, for example) but the overwhelming majority of St Pete residents will be able to store the container on the back or side of their home and bring it to the curbside for collection.

Will I be sited if I put the container on the Sidewalk? An individual may be able to pass without stepping in the roadway, but a bicycle, baby carriage or wheelchair will not. ALSO... If I put the container out in the morning, will it be okay until I get home that evening? If this is not acceptable to YOUR program, please tell me how I can be removed from it... Without Being Charged. Who gets the money from the recycling? Will the profits help to reduce the cost of what the city is charging for Water, Sewer, Garbage?

why in the world would we want ugly containers?
I am being charged for two and no one lives in the back!
You should be paying me to house these on my property!
You want it you pay for it.
Is this how you get bright shiny new trucks?
This idea was not thought out and you have literally not given the property
owners the truth again.!

I think the containers are nice and clean. I have no problem with how they look,.

We have alley pick up in most areas of the city.That is where these should go. A simple fix to add a gate to access your back yard will not work in many cases. I have a gate... I however would have to tear off a 2 ft section of my home on either side just to get the container to the gate. I have top walk my container around the block. I dont have sidewalks. Your lack of due diligence when designing this project is showing. One of 2 things will happen. You will get very little participation because the bins cant be brought to the curb or they will sit on the street day and night in front of homes....
It is my understanding the wrong trucks were purchased and will not fit down the alleyway.....
I invite you to come over to my home and tell me how I can remove 4 ft of concrete from m y rental home in order to assist this program.
