Recently Stops signs have been added to the railroad tracks on Wright Brothers Drive and 5600 west. This is causing possible rear collisions especially since trains don't use those tracks more then once every couple months. Are they really necessary?

Dear Virgil,
Thank you for being patient while a response to your concern was generated. Mayor Becker has asked that I respond on his behalf. Scott Vaterlaus from our Transportation Department responded to your inquiry with the following:
“We have been in contact with UDOT and with the railroad company in regard to the traffic control for the railroad crossings on both 5600 West and on Wright Brothers Drive at approximately 500 North. It was determined the stop signs at the crossings should be replaced with yield signs. The change in signs is to be completed this week.”
