Description

There is a woman who regularly, if not daily, is leaving large amounts of cat food in the parking lot of the First Christian Church on Fairmont and 29th. Not only does it attract a large amount of feral/stray cats, but it also attracts skunks, raccoons, and possums. I asked her yesterday to please not feed the cats because the cats defecate in my and my neighbors yards and carry disease. She became defensive and irate, and said that she has permission from the Church to feed the cats. There are at least a dozen to 20 strays that roam the neighborhood because she is feeding them. This has become a public health concern. I have an 8 month old son, and I am worried for his health and safety because of the overwhelming amount of cat feces in our neighborhood due to this issue. The smell of cat feces is often overpowering from the moment we leave our house. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
