Description

There is an urgent need for a crosswalk at this intersection to allow bicyclists and pedestrians to cross the 4 lanes of traffic. The Capital Area Greenbelt crosses the street at this point, and the end of the path along riverfront is also at this point. Riverfront is one of the greatest assets of the city of Harrisburg, yet it effectively discourages it's use by having not a single crosswalk along the entire north front street section for almost 3 miles. Crosswalks with flashing lights would also slow traffic in a problem area for aggressive driving. There is a worn/fadded bike crossing sign but, No painted cross markings!!!
