yes this is still a problem. they never swept the leaves in the fall and it's no exaggeration that under the snow is 4-6 inches of leaves and trash (fast food debris, broken bottles, a broken plastic CHAIR!). it's disgusting.
This area is always a problem. There is a lot of street parking here and in the village. The only way to solve it is to have a regular, posted street-sweeping schedule and be aggressive about towing/moving/ticketing cars for sweeping. This will really upset some people but otherwise it is a waste of taxpayer dollars to have street-sweepers going down the middle of the road because of all the parked cars.

So how can we fix this problem? Why isn't West Rock and Tour part of the regular cleaning route? Why are our city tax dollars not going toward cleaning other streets but not our own?
still a problem. and by the way, our alderman quite frankly told me to give up on the issue.
i would personally be happy to post signs if the problem is the city has no money to pay someone to post signs.
for a neighborhood that supposedly pays some of the highest taxes in the city, it would be nice if the streets actually looked like we did.
as you can see in the photo, the year long build up of leaves and trash top over the curb in some spots. that's anywhere from 6-12 inches in some places. this is just one section of the block.
