Q. What is the issue?
A. At the corner of 11th st and girard, pedestrian safety is a huge issue. This corner (connected to a school with many small children) is the only intersection in columbia heights that is not a 4 way stop. Cars often speed Through this intersection ignoring pedestrians or narrowly missing them. Car on girard st often can't see incoming traffic which is an additional concern for bikers in the area. By providing a 4 way stop traffic would not be significantly hampered and the neighborhood would be safer for pedestrians, bikers and school children.
