Description
Man entering yards on Hine Place allegedly looking for bottles and cans. African-American, wearing white t-shirt, black pants, black hat. Riding/pushing green bicycle with shopping cart hitched on back. My next door neighbor confronted him and told him not to come into her yard, but he continued going into other yards.

While I can appreciate the concern for one's privacy and personal safety, as well as the need to respect others property, I can also appreciate that the tresspasser is looking for bottles and cans, and NOT for an opportunity to steal. A possible solution: if someone from your block doesn't mind talking to this man and advise that on the night before your scheduled trash pick up, paperbags containing bottles and cans will be placed curbside next to the recycling toters, and that if he comes to pick them up before Public Works comes, then he is welcome.
This way, it will keep him out of your yards, and will also help support someone who is trying to support himself. Just a thought ... it works in my neighborhood. We have people who regularly come by to get the bottles and cans that other residents have set aside for them
