How can we get the debris tested for lead and other contaminants before they take the bin away? The dust covered my car, plants and porch :P

Wow...thanks for posting this. The dust coming out of the shoot cannot be acceptable standards, this looks terrible and definitely dangerous to anyone in the vicinity.
Are the workers even wearing any kind of respirator.
This doesn't seem right at all.

Thanks for your comment Maria - hoping it didnt get all the way back to Leigh. I agree of course, they seem in violation of some standards! Has been going on for several weeks, but the rain has kept it down somewhat -- until today. The workers only appear to be wearing paper masks when they wear any at all.

If someone who monitored the dust levels at the hospital tear down reads this, please comment and let us know how we can contact you for advice? They seem to have done a good job of containing the dust at that site. I'm going to go get samples off my car, porch and from the bin before the evidence disappears, although I suspect they will be at this for several more days unless someone stops them.

Isn't that location one block from the small pla
yground/wading pool used by the neighborhood children AND the Princeton Nursery School? Lead dust is a leading contaminant responsible for delayed or even compromised development in young children. Does the term "environmental racism" come to mind?

The Health Department is responding to the site this morning. The complaint is also being shared with Building and Construction to ensure all necessary permits are complete.

This site has an interior demo permit . Proper shoots are being used in dumping the debris into the dumpster. The building was insulated with a blown in non toxic paper insulation. I had stooped out there this morning.The job should be completed today.

Job site inspected by the Princeton Health Department. Insulation was comprised of a cellulose fiber, made from wood products including newspaper and cardboard. Property does not have a history of lead paint therefore plaster demolition and removal is considered safe. Limiting dust from the dumpster was discussed with contractor and the demolition was being completed while inspector was on site. No further action required by the Princeton Health Department.
