Good morning,
Sorry to hear about your situation. I would recommend to start trapping the cats and having us pick them up. We have traps available here at animal services. Our traps require a $75.00 deposit, of which $50.00 is returned to you when we get the trap back. The county also charges $10.00 a day starting the third day that you have the trap. Once the cat is trapped, you can contact us and we will pick up the cat at no charge to you. Another option would be to purchase your own trap. Harbor Freight has them for around $20.00. If you catch a cat in your own trap, we would still pick it up at no charge. We ask citizens to set the trap at dusk and check it first thing in the morning. If a cat is caught, you can contact us as early as 700am and schedule a pick up. You do not have to be home when we pick up, you can leave a note on the front door giving us permission and we will remove the cat. If you have any additional questions or comments feel free to contact me.
Thank you, Senior Animal Control Officer 727-582-2297

Thanks for the response, but I am not going to trap the cats. This is the reason I contacted the city I would think it's in the city's best interest to eliminate the problem and prevent a more serious situation from occurring such as a rabid cat. I walk the neighborhood with my dog and have noticed this problem getting worse. Plus the house they are camped out in front of is gross and not sure if it's been abandoned I never see anyone come and go from the house which is why I think the cats live in the bushes there because no one shews them away.
Sincerely,
Tax Paying Homeowner

RE: the feral cats - the City has no Animal Services department, and a Pinellas County Animal Control officer has already responded with the information that they are able to provide above.
RE: recycle bin pick-up - you would need to send an email to CurbsideRecycling@stpete.org and they will schedule the collection of your bin.
Thank you, Mayor's Action Center
